Lamar CISD Wins Top Honors at H-E-B Education Awards

Exciting news for the Cross Creek West community! The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (Lamar CISD) School Board has been named the best school board in Texas.

The board received the honor at the the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards ceremony held in Austin earlier this month. The awards celebrate the educators and school leaders who shape the future of Texas. In addition to bragging rights, the school board received a $25,000 check to help continue their efforts.

The board consists of President Zach Lambert, Vice President Jacci Hotzel, Secretary Jon Welch and members Mandi Bronsell, Kay Danziger, Suzanne Box, and Joe Hubenak.

This group of leaders works collaboratively to ensure the district’s vision is student-centered and community focused. Their belief in the power of teamwork, support for educators, and prioritization of students has helped Lamar CISD rise to the top.

Families in Cross Creek West are zoned to outstanding Lamar CISD schools, including McNeill Elementary, Roberts Middle School, Dean Leaman Junior High and Fulshear High School.

Adding to the excitement, Haygood Elementary, a brand-new, state-of-the-art school located right here in Cross Creek West, is set to open its doors in August. This new campus will serve as a cornerstone for families, ensuring students have access to cutting-edge facilities and the same high standard of education that Lamar CISD is celebrated for.

Lamar CISD’s recognition as the best school board in Texas is an accomplishment worth celebrating. For families in Cross Creek West, this honor serves as a reminder of the excellent educational opportunities available in our community.
