Johnson Development Announces New Fulshear Community

Johnson Development has started development of 1,258 acres for a new Fulshear community, Cross Creek West.

The community is located on FM 359 and Jordan Road within the City of Fulshear’s extra-territorial jurisdiction. It is a few miles away from Cross Creek Ranch and Jordan Ranch, two Johnson Development communities also in the Fulshear area.

“Fulshear is a popular and growing area that has excellent schools, abundant shopping and great access, thanks to the Westpark Tollway and Texas Heritage Parkway that opened last year,” said Rob Bamford, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cross Creek West and Cross Creek Ranch. “We’ve seen a lot of success in that submarket and expect that demand to continue for Cross Creek West.”

Cross Creek Ranch is ranked No. 48 among the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities, according to a recently released 2022 report by Robert Charles Lesser & Co. Approximately 4,600 homes have closed in Cross Creek Ranch. In addition, Johnson Development’s community of Jordan Ranch recently marked the sale of its 1000th new home.

When complete, Cross Creek West will accommodate more than 3,000 homes. Work has begun on the first phase of 410 homesites, with builder activity expected to begin in the spring. Builders will offer floor plans for 45-, 50-, 55- and 60-foot homesites. A central model home village in the first phase will debut eight models.

The current plan for Cross Creek West has set aside approximately 15 acres for a Lamar Consolidated Independent School District elementary and nearly 5 acres for commercial development on FM 359. A recreation center and pool are slated to open in spring of 2023. Greenbelts and waterways will meander through the community.

“The development of Cross Creek West will mirror the same respect for nature that we’ve adopted in nearby Cross Creek Ranch,” Bamford said. “There will be ample outdoor recreational areas, and development practices will focus on sustainability.”

Established in 1975, Johnson Development has 18 active communities in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and Atlanta. It has more communities ranked among the nation’s top-selling than any other developer in Texas. For more information, visit www.johnsondevelopment.com.
